Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The EHS Coordinator will assist the EHS Manager in administering the EHS Program at the floor level. The role involves being the primary interface with floor personnel to ensure effective communication of all EHS goals and objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Conduct daily shop walk-throughs.
  2. Promote proactive hazard identification and mitigation through employee participation in behavior-based safety programs, observation cards, trend analysis, and The SAFE Way program.
  3. Collaborate with Supervisors and Leads to develop effective JSA’s.
  4. Stay updated on laws, regulations, standards, and guidance, advising the EHS Manager on compliance and program updates.
  5. Perform periodic risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits; recommend corrective actions.
  6. Investigate and document work-related accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring timely corrective measures.
  7. Identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  8. Conduct safety training sessions as needed.
  9. Assist in incident management and safety meetings.
  10. Help prepare EHS reports.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to mentor and coach staff on safety protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Education & Training
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of OSHA 511 training or equivalent.
  • Willingness to attend specialized training as recommended.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience leading and coaching teams.
  • Experience in leading safety meetings.
  • Ability to follow directives from EHS Manager and Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards CFR 1910 for general industry.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in writing and teaching JSAs.
  • Experience in developing and leading safety trainings.
  • Ability to recognize and mitigate hazards in manufacturing environments.
  • Capability to recommend improvements to EHS programs based on floor observations.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Work in a shop environment with exposure to elements.
  • Normal vision required; color blindness not permitted.
  • Physical effort includes moving materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Use of safety glasses and hearing protection recommended.
  • Stand for up to 10 hours/day, 6 days/week.
  • Work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
  • Steel-toe boots required in manufacturing areas.
