Job summary

Crane Resistoflex in Georgia seeks an EHS professional to support the EHS Manager in leading environmental, health, safety and security efforts on site. The role focuses on accurate EHS reporting, training, crisis support and driving a strong safety culture.

You will assist with ISO 9001-2015 and IATF 16949-2016 aligned improvements, lead root-cause analyses, and help implement loss-prevention measures across the value stream. Strong communication and project capabilities are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
  • Strong project management and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication across all organization levels.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and environmental regulations.
  • LEAN manufacturing knowledge and Kaizen experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist EHS Manager in coordinating environmental, safety and health activities for the site.
  • Ensure EHS controls are in place and action items closed on time.
  • Coach associates on safety practices and Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Support creation of EHS goals and drive culture, compliance and results.
  • Develop and implement waste minimization and recycling programs.
  • File required environmental and sustainability reports to government agencies.
  • Conduct internal environmental audits to ensure compliance.
  • Provide OSHA and other EH&S trainings.
  • Support toll gates for DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Process capability study.
  • Ensure ISO 9001-2015 compliance.

Job description

Position Summary: This position assists the EHS Manager in providing environmental, health, safety, and security leadership at Crane Resistoflex. Individual is accountable for providing assistance with EHS activities to the site including hands‑on participation; evaluating and clarifying EHS objectives and targets with Site Leadership; internal reporting of EHS performance. Position is directly responsible for EH&S compliance & improvements by assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; assuring closure of related action Items on a timely basis; completion of required EHS training for personnel; supporting Site Leadership teams during crises; creating a strong EHS culture that engages associates. Lead/Support quality improvement initiatives as per IATF 16949-2016 to achieve set sigma level for value stream. Guide production team on issue resolution using knowledge relevant to your department specialties.

Principal Duties (includes, but is not limited to)
  • Assist EHS Manager in coordinating all environmental, safety and health related activities for the site to prevent occupational injury/illness related losses, environmental exposure through spills and minimize future liabilities by evaluating risks and establishing appropriate loss control/reduction activities.
  • Ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, and EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Assist EHS Manager in coaching associates on safety practices and design of processes including Job Hazard Analysis and basic Root Cause Incident Analysis.
  • Supports creation of EHS goals for the site and appropriate activity based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front‑line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
  • Develop and help implement waste minimization and recycling programs, while also ensuring the Company continues to be environmentally sensitive to recycling and environmental opportunities.
  • Work with EHS Manager and site teams to insure filing of all required environmental and sustainability reports to government agencies with review team
  • Support effective implementation of environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal environmental audits at sites to ensure compliance with local government standards.
  • Assist in providing OSHA & other EH&S related trainings to sites.
  • Participate quality improvements as per IATF 16949 2016 ensure to complete toll gates for DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Process capability study for in house process.
  • Ensure requirements of relevant standards like ISO 9001-2015, etc. are being consistently met and improved.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety or a related degree.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to plan and prioritize own work, completes work on schedule and maintains required records.
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral, to all levels of the organization (internal, customers and suppliers).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to read and apply applicable regulatory requirements, such as OSHA, NCDENR, ANSI and NFPA Standards.
  • Understanding of basic LEAN manufacturing principles and Kaizen.
  • Demonstrated skills in the operation of various computer programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to problem solve and good understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
  • Experience with ergonomic risk factor assessments and industry tools.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other US regulations and the fundamentals of safety and industrial hygiene.
  • Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Hazardous Waste Handler Awareness and satellite accumulation (including but not limited to) caps, labelling, dating.
  • Periodically removing satellite waste containers and deliver to less than central accumulation area.
  • Annual RCRA Training including Emergency Coordinator (secondary) refresher, Contingency Plan training, RCR hazardous waste training. #CPE
