Pregis LLC, a leading global provider of innovative packaging solutions, is seeking an EHS Coordinator based at its Anderson, SC manufacturing facility, which operates on a 24/7 schedule.

The EHS Coordinator will lead all efforts to ensure safety and health compliance, conduct safety trainings, and maintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor. The EHS Coordinator will directly support OSHA programs relevant to operations and function as the designated safety owner within the Anderson site.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a zero-injury safety culture by providing guidance and coaching to grow the leadership team, plant operations, and plant safety committees. Promote safe work behaviors and foster a safety culture that keeps the safety of employees at the forefront of our business.
- Continually improve, evaluate, implement and maintain health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with company, state, federal and local regulations.
- Manage facility workplace incident investigations to include responding to and reporting all incidents, incident investigations, determine root cause, establishing recurrence prevention plans, and follow through.
- Develop and update Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and conduct safety orientation training. Identify, further develop and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee’s awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.
- Maintain all relevant EHS logs and documentation.
- Administer plant safety and environmental initiatives and lead continuous improvement efforts in those areas, utilizing effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Oversee hazardous waste storage area, waste reduction monitoring and ensure regulatory agency compliance, labeling, containments, proper disposal and documentation.
- Ensure all new materials and supply orders include Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and evaluate new raw materials for facility use considering safety and regulatory factors.
- Conduct auditing to monitor progress of EHS improvement and compliance. Leverage the data and findings to implement true root cause corrective actions.
- Conduct regular safety walks of work areas to identify and eliminate potential safety risks and talk to the personnel to identify their concerns. Communicate safety and health issues to the workers in a manner to help them understand why they are important and addressing them is for their benefit.
- Assist in emergency response and provide first aid guidance.
- Compliance management to Tier II reporting and OSHA industry standards.
- Develop and manage plant safety auditing requirements.
Job Requirements
- Ability to lead small, diverse teams with a focus on driving safety performance metrics.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee safety issues, investigations and company processes.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Skills/Abilities: Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Physical Demands
This position requires regular standing and sitting for extended periods. Regular typing/keyboarding, writing, and filing. Must be able to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, customers, and visitors. Must also be able to work in a high-stress environment.
Working Environment
Production/Warehouse environment 50-75% of the time.
Education/Experience
- Minimum 5 years Health, Safety & Environmental experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, PSM, and RMP regulations
