Job summary

BSI is seeking an EHS Consulting Specialist to support a variety of environmental, health, and safety client engagements. This is an EHS Generalist, early-career role designed for professionals eager to apply technical knowledge and grow within a collaborative consulting environment.

The Consulting Specialist will support projects across multiple industries and client sites, with exposure to field work, data collection, and foundational EHS program support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an EHS or related field.
• 2–3 years of EHS or IH-related work (internships and co‑ops count).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and team members.
• Willingness to travel for client-related projects.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and car and be able to drive for client-related projects.
• Must be able to travel by plane outside the region to support client work in other locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct industrial hygiene assessments, including indoor air quality (IAQ) evaluations, exposure assessments, workplace investigations, and air, noise, and other occupational sampling and monitoring activities.
• Support clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations and applicable industry standards.
• Perform workplace health and safety inspections, hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and compliance audits, and assist in developing corrective action plans.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, including those based on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Develop and deliver occupational health, safety, and environmental training programs for employees, supervisors, and management teams.
• Contribute to sustainability and CSR initiatives, including projects focused on energy reduction, waste minimization, environmental footprint management, and resource conservation.
• Support environmental compliance and assessment activities related to air emissions, wastewater management, hazardous waste, and other environmental programs.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and workstation evaluations with senior consultants.
