Job description

HRP’s Farmington and Derby, Connecticut offices have an immediate full-time opportunity for an individual with 0 to 6 years of experience in EH&S. The candidate will have demonstrated success working in several program areas noted below or the education and ambition to do so. The candidate will possess curiosity, drive, and ambition. Key Responsibilities:
  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) compliance
  • Developing site-specific EH&S compliance programs based on federal, state, and local regulations, as well as client directives. Examples include Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry, Emergency Action, Fire Prevention, Exposure Control, Waste Minimization, Waste Management, Contingency Planning, etc.
  • Work with project managers to manage EH&S programs at client facilities, serving as an EHS coordinator
  • Assist with H&S audits/inspections and provide corrective action recommendations
  • Assist with H&S management systems development, including SOPs, guidance documents, and training programs
  • Manage hazardous waste activities, including characterization, inspections, training, and communication with agencies
  • Develop and conduct site-specific EH&S training programs on various safety topics
  • Assist with industrial hygiene projects like air sampling, noise assessments, and facility decommissioning
  • Interact with employees across different industry settings
  • Conduct job safety analyses and incident investigations
Requirements:
  • BSc in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or similar
  • 0-6 years of EH&S experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local regulations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to client needs
  • Interest in professional licensure (CSP, ASP, IH, etc.)
Preferred:
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training
  • Professional certifications (CSP, ASP, OHST, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and lead tasks
  • Attention to detail and quick learner

Salary range for the EHS Consultant position is $50,000 - $80,000 USD, based on experience and other factors.
