Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to advise associates on safety topics, coordinate audits, and lead compliance initiatives at Houston campuses. The role requires training delivery, incident investigation, and effective EHS program development to meet regulatory standards.

You will support the EHS team, coordinate processes, review policies, and communicate safety improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • At least 1 year of EHS experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and lead associates on various safety-related topics.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate inspections, safety audits, and environmental audits for campus locations.
  • Lead safety meetings and ensure proper training of associates on safety and health requirements and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes and recommend solutions, improvement opportunities, or preventive measures.
  • Provide elevated support to the EHS team, ensuring all aspects of EHS compliance are met at the highest level.
  • Maintain, coordinate, and communicate EHS processes and procedures.
  • Review, administer, maintain, and ensure compliance with company policies and various state and federal regulations.
  • Review, research, develop, and communicate EHS programs and solution initiatives; develop action plans as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
