Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles is seeking a Clinical Information Systems Educator to lead EHR training and educational initiatives. The role ensures clinical users are ready and confident with HIT systems, maintains online training, and partners with leadership to improve training materials.

The educator will support providers and staff, including new hires, and must be proficient with Cerner Millennium, with bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficient Cerner Millennium user.
• Experience training clinical staff; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EHR orientation program and curricula for the organization.
• Provide direct educational support for providers and staff.
• Maintain the online (internet based) training site and ensure training data accuracy.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership on training content and materials.
• Validate training content by observing employee use of new skills.
• Evaluate end-user assessments and revise training as needed.
• Deliver innovative teaching approaches to fit end-user needs.
• Coordinate ongoing education based on learning needs assessments.
• Know the Watson Model of Care: Care, Competence, Communication, Commitment.
