Cornell Scott–Hill Health Center is seeking a detail-oriented Business Intelligence EHR Optimization Specialist to analyze clinical workflows, troubleshoot Epic issues, and provide technical support to optimize EHR processes and performance.

The ideal candidate will document findings, present recommendations to improve efficiency and user experience, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment; you may also assist with security access and act as a backup

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience training clinical providers on Epic applications and related workflows.
• Proficiency with Epic software and healthcare information systems.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare terminology, clinical workflows, and training methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Attend required CSHHC Epic training to acquire knowledge of existing Epic workflows.
• Provide live and remote support after workflow analysis of all sites to identify training opportunities.
• Round departments to assess training needs and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Create, view, and modify Excel worksheets to document concerns, recommendations, and resolutions.
• Serve as a relief trainer for Epic training as needed.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Epic EHR & CSHHC Knowledge:
  • Attend required CSHHC Epic training to acquire a knowledge base of existing CSHHC workflows in Epic.
  • Complete credentialing in Ambulatory, Cadence, and ClinDoc.
  • Review training and upgrade material to ensure expertise with current CSHHC workflows and ongoing Epic upgrade changes.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Epic functionality and CSHHC workflows.
• Optimization Support Shadow:
  • Will provide live and remote support after obtaining workflow analysis of all CSHHC’s sites to identify workflow deficiencies and training opportunities.
  • Regularly round all CSHHC departments to assess training needs and provide support. Assess skill gaps and provide recommendations for improvement to guarantee user proficiency and workflow uniformity.
  • Create, view, and modify Excel worksheets to document, manage, and track on-site visit concerns, recommendations, and resolutions.
  • Design workflow documentation software documenting workflow analysis observations and revisions.
  • Provide ongoing high-level support and guidance for new and existing employees to optimize existing and new processes and workflow.
  • Provide go-live (elbow support) when requested during epic upgrades.
  • Review operational policies and procedures as needed. Participate in meetings regarding Epic, including upgrades, CSHHC procedures, and deliver workflow communications.
• Epic Central:
  • Maintain exemplary customer service by ensuring timely responses to Epic user concerns.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and resolve various Epic issues via telephone and manage engine requests.
  • Work with Epic Central analysts to troubleshoot elevate issues and coordinate service requests.
  • Document issuing using the ticketing management system to document resolution.
  • Provide on-site “elbow” Epic support and Epic troubleshooting.
  • Follow up with end users to guarantee issue resolution.
  • Review and process security access forms for new hires, rehires, and role changes.
• Epic Training:
  • Serve as a relief trainer, delivering on-site Epic training for clinical providers and other clinical and non-clinical staff as needed.
  • Provide Ad hoc Epic training as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
• Required experience training clinical providers on Epic applications and related clinical workflows.
• Proven proficiency with Epic software and healthcare information systems.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare terminology, clinical workflows, and training methodologies.
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lucidchart/Visio.
• Familiarity with various ticket management systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods, manage interruptions and stress, meet deadlines, and perform work requiring extended periods of sitting, with reasonable accommodations as needed.
