Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to support the Aurora and Rockford generating facilities. This role combines technical leadership with regulatory compliance to minimize risk and improve safety, reliability, and environmental performance.

You will lead EH&S programs under OSHA, USEPA, IEPA and NERC standards, manage incident investigations, audits, and reporting, and develop budgets and training plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Environmental Science, OH&S, or equivalent.
• Broad knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NERC regulations and regulatory reporting.
• Minimum 5+ years of EH&S leadership in power generation or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day EH&S programs across two facilities to ensure compliance.
• Develop and enforce Safety Management System and EMS programs.
• Oversee incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis and 5 Whys.
• Coordinate inspections, audits, and regulatory submissions.
