Job summary

Hanwha Defense USA is seeking a Manager of EH&S and Explosives Safety to build and lead the safety program for a new 1,067-acre manufacturing campus in White Hall, AR. You will design the EH&S and explosives safety program from ground up, train the workforce, and coordinate with Army partners at Pine Bluff Arsenal.

You will oversee explosives safety, process safety management, occupational safety, and leadership partnerships, ensuring compliance with DoD/EPA/DEQ requirements and enabling safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a technical field related to EH&S.
• 10+ years of EH&S experience with 5+ years in ammunition/explosives manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own explosives safety program for AE operations, including handling, processing, storage, and waste.
• Lead QD analysis and explosives site plan development with DoD and Army safety offices.
• Ensure compliance with DoD/Army explosives safety standards and related regulations.
• Establish explosives limits, hazard classification support, lightning protection, and electrical requirements.
• Lead mishap reporting and investigation for AE events as required.
• Build and maintain OSHA Process Safety Management program for explosives manufacturing.
• Lead/facilitate PHA/HAZOP studies and management of change processes.
• Develop and implement site safety and health programs, training, and PPE.
• Oversee construction-phase safety coordination with design-build teams.
• Track safety metrics and cultivate a culture of safety.
• Manage regulatory permits for air, water, waste, and stormwater; DEQ/EPA compliance.
• Carry NEPA commitments and Clean Water Act permit conditions into operations.
• Lead EH&S team from pre-construction to production and interface with regulators.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or safety engineering, environmental science, occupational safety, or a related technical field
