Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health Sciences, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience and training.
• 4+ years of EH&S/EHS or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and guidelines.
• Experience with OSHA compliance and industrial safety.
• Experience with hazard identification, corrective actions, and safety inspections.
• Experience conducting accident/incident investigations and safety training.
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, chemical safety, fire safety, and ergonomics.
• Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with departments on equipment design/use, fire prevention, and safety programs.
• Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to ensure required safety precautions are included.
• Conduct plant inspections of fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards.
• Define requirements for safety clothing, protective devices, and machinery safety systems.
• Conduct or coordinate safety training covering emergency response, safety policies, laws, and practices.
• Investigate industrial accidents and prepare accident reports to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct air quality testing for harmful gases and vapors.
• Identify health and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide internal guidance on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, fire safety, and chemical safety.
• Audit business units to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and engineers on facilities, chemicals, and workplace health and safety matters.
• Compile and submit safety reports.
• Support workers' compensation, OSHA 2000 log, and return-to-work programs.
