Job summary

Oliver Healthcare Packaging in Pennsylvania is seeking a Site Safety Coordinator to manage safety programs and drive continuous improvement in safety policies. Job description

Position Summary

The Site Safety Coordinator will manage the site’s safety programs, drive continuous improvement in the site’s safety policies and procedures, and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes or equipment to improve safety. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for all site safety related matters.

Primary Responsibilities
Safety
  • Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions in the work area. Model and reinforce safe behaviors.
  • Help ensure that OSHA and local regulatory requirements are met for training, documentation and reporting.
Quality (position specific)
  • Comply with cGMP and ISO 13485 quality system standards.
  • Plan and deliver timely training to ensure that all operators are competent.
Delivery (position specific)
  • Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs.
  • Review current safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Submit recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
  • Stop operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Share environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
Productivity
  • Review Job Hazard Assessments and Work Instructions, ensures all potential safety hazards are documented and training is in place to mitigate the hazards.
  • Work with Engineering during the Installation Qualification phase to assess safety risk using tools such as Process Safety Audits (PSA), Job Hazard Assessments (JHA) and Safety Risk Assessments (SRA).
  • Perform routine Safety Audits of every work center or workspace.
  • Respond to any reports of hazards or injuries and drive corrective action or process improvement.

  • Lead the Site Safety Committee in Monthly Meetings
Basic Qualifications
Training/Education
  • Associate’s Degree or minimum relevant work experience required
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
Experience
  • 5+ years of safety program management; OR the equivalent combination of education and skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and 5S
  • Experience in manufacturing operations
  • Mathematical skills
Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 10lbs.
  • Frequent visits to the manufacturing floor.
