Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in environmental health & safety with 3-5 years of experience.
• Master of Science in health, safety, risk or public health related field preferred.
• Knowledge in Building Engineering Systems and Trades.
• Experience reading blueprints/floorplans.
• Basic competency in general chemistry.
• Capable of wearing a respirator and PPE.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, HEM) preferred.
• OSHA HAZWOPER Certification preferred.
• RCRA/DOT Certification preferred.
• Experience with CMS/Joint Commission Codes preferred.
• Ability to read sources of chemical hazard information and apply safety practices.
• Strong presentation and English communication skills; able to deliver trainings.
• Interpersonal and teamwork abilities; conflict resolution.
• Ability to multitask and support others in a broad department.
• Computer competency with general office software.
• Physically capable of walking, standing, climbing, lifting, carrying.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Safety and Compliance program within EH&S.
• Coordinate CMS/Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care compliance programs.
• Collaborate with Clinical, Support Services, Real Estate Facilities, and Engineering to standardize programs.
• Lead planning and tracking of safety, health and permitting programs.
• Perform hazard surveys, incident investigations, exposure monitoring, and manage hazardous materials.
• Provide training and maintain documentation; ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance.
