Top Prospect Group in Stratford, CT is seeking an experienced EH&S Coordinator to lead regulatory compliance, risk management and safety programs in a chemical manufacturing setting.

You will audit regulations, prepare environmental reports, manage regulatory filings and internal audits, coordinate with Intertek for REACH, and drive continuous improvement through MOC reviews and ISO alignment. A BS/MS in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and 5–7+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
  • 5–7+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with OSHA PSM, ISO9001 and ISO14001 is a plus.
  • Proven project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Title: EH&S CoordinatorLocation: Onsite Stratford, CTType: Direct Hire Full TimeSalary: $105-115K DOE Plus excellent Benefits Plus Bonus EligibleEssential Functions:Regulations and ComplianceDetermine, implement, monitor, and audit adherence to applicable regulationsManage relationships with government representatives and auditing bodiesOversight of regulatory filings including (but not limited to):Air emission calculations and recordkeeping as required by CT NSR permitsPreparation and submittal of environmental reports including Form R, Tier II, Biennial Hazardous Waste, Emission Statements, TSCA, IUR, and REACHTake the lead for risk management and process safety issuesMaintain the OSHA 300 LogReview all OSHA-related reports and filingsEnsure product labeling meets OSHA/GHS standardsComplete CDP and other environmental GHG compliance reporting per customer requirementsWork with Intertek to maintain REACH registrationsProvide Intertek with annual data for REACH registered productsInternal AuditingGenerate reports, monitor data for key safety metrics and post monthlyCommunicate key safety topics with Senior Leadership Team periodically including:Status of regulatory filingsSafety topics - current focusSafety risks and exposureResults of safety auditsAccidents or near-misses since last updateAction items from last updateRCRA Compliance audit review and verificationPeriodic review and updating company Safety proceduresParticipate in safety review of Management of Change activitiesMaintenance and upkeep of the company Contingency PlanSupport maintenance and implementation of ISO requirementsOversee and maintain company Methylene Chloride testing programSafetyDevelop a foundational knowledge of formulations, unit operations and procedures used to produce core company productsResponsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards according to regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.) throughout the end-to-end new product development and scale-upRaw materials overviewPlant operationsLab handlingWaste disposalShipping requirementsProvide expertise in the area of process safety and improvementsReview and approve new and revised Chemical Operating Procedures (COPs) ensuring proper safety instructions are includedCollaborate with Engineering/R&D to ensure safe development/scale up of new and existing productsCoordination of waste management and disposalProvide guidance for the company Safety CommitteeResponsible for the completion of both new employee and recurring safety trainingImprove safety training by evaluating current processes and looking for opportunities to improveDevelopment and maintenance of Product SDS ProgramMaintain library for all SDS for company sitePrepare and track budgetEstimate government penaltiesMaintain building security and evaluate needed updatesEnsure fire protection systems are operationalJob Requirements:BS / MS in Chemical (preferred), Environmental Engineering or equivalent experience5-7+ years hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environmentProven track record of successful Project Management from initial scoping to final implementation. Project management skills should include demonstrated ability to organize and lead meetings and teams while managing multiple projects.Experience with batch processing of chemicals a plus.Knowledge of and experience with quality and environmental management systems (OSHA PSM, ISO9001 and ISO14001) a plus.Experience in multi-tasking, prioritizing complex issues and independently managing multiple priorities.Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeWorking knowledge of chemical manufacturing work processes (Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, LEAN, etc.) in a manufacturing facility a plus.Demonstrated cross-departmental effectiveness and ability to develop solid interpersonal relationships as a positive, productive problem solver.About UsFounded in 2010, Top Prospect Group specializes in connecting high-quality candidates with top-tier clients.
