Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

1.1 Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.

1.2 Support and investigate situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.

1.3 Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.

1.4 Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.

1.5 Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).

1.6 Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.

1.7 Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.

1.8 Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.

1.9 Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

1.10 Responds to any emergency or potential emergency.

1.11 Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Amcor employees, and proper maintenance/security of Amcor information and equipment within your direct responsibility.

1.12 Constant vigilance and participation in Safety, Food Safety and Quality practices and procedures.

1.13 Identify and record problems relating to products, processes and quality system.

2.0 Authority, Including But Not Limited To:

2.1 Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity of product or quality systems and recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

2.2 Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.

Duties

3.0 Primary Duties, including but not limited to:

3.1 Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.

3.2 Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

3.3 Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.

3.4 Help implement and manage safety programs, policies and procedures.

3.5 Oversee the maintenance of OSHA record keeping reports.

3.6 Oversee Safety / First Aid Teams.

3.7 Conduct quarterly Management Safety reviews.

3.8 Conduct, manage, & report weekly safety audits including all findings & corrective actions.

3.9 Identify at risk behaviors/conditions within the plant and implement corrective measures.

3.10 Investigate all incidents and property losses.

3.11 Assists in the review and sustainability of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems, including annual review of all written regulatory policies.

3.12 Builds an understanding of EHS initiatives, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements through regular check-ins/meetings with Multi-Site EHS manager.

3.13 Implements and promotes environmental and safety projects.

3.14 Production floor presence daily and liaison for EHS with employees, frontline leaders and management.

3.15 Regulatory compliance and housekeeping audits weekly and monthly. Maintains the compliance calendar to ensure all tasks are met on time and staff held accountable.

3.16 Conducts EHS new hire orientation and ensures all technical personnel are trained and authorized based on the site’s training matrix.

3.17 Facilitate authorized/technical safety training including documented skill demonstration; including authorized lock out tag out, crane use, forklift; fall protection; confined space, hot work and site‑specific training and schedule with departments.

3.18 Develops and implements training for compliance for health and safety programs including, but not limited to, hazard communications, safe working practices, and PPE.

3.19 Ensures proper inventory/selection of PPE; approves all PPE and new chemical purchases.

3.20 Assists in first responder duties including treatment, injury, illness, incident record keeping through internal reporting processes and leads onsite investigation team through RCA and CAPA.

3.21 Plan and track EHS improvement projects from suggestions to completion, with input and oversight from Multi‑site EHS Manager, using risk register to rank priority/success.

3.22 Data entry of actions; incidents and training in GDC database. Assists in closure of corrective and preventive actions.

3.23 Assists in maintenance of local EHS policies, procedures and regulatory requirements including site work plans.

3.24 Develop, coordinate and lead "daily safety talks" and one‑point lesson training and awareness programs throughout the organization as defined by regulations, policies and/or incident trends.

3.25 Provide management with safety training information for monthly safety meetings.

3.26 Organize and oversee all OSHA/EPA/DOT required training (i.e., forklift, lockout, SPCC).

3.27 Organize and maintain GHS/SDS.

3.28 Assist with the administration of the workers compensation program.

3.29 Manage all federal, state & local environmental permits and ensure compliance.

3.30 Manage the contractor safety program and ensure compliance.

3.31 Perform any other duties established by the Multi‑Site EHS Manager.

Qualifications

4.0 Qualifications / Education Required:

4.1 Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

4.2 Maintaining an attendance record within company guidelines including a negative drug screen test results and working required overtime.

4.3 High school diploma or GED equivalency. Read, write and speak English.

4.4 Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations.

4.5 1–3 years safety experience in an industrial setting.

4.6 Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

4.7 Highly motivated, self‑directed work ethic with excellent written and oral communication skills.

4.8 Capable of traveling as required.

Preferred Skills

5.0 Preferred Skills / Experience:

5.1 Two or four‑year degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management preferred.
