Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking an EHS Lab Analyst for the Fremont, CA facility to support environmental, health and safety programs and drive a zero-injury culture.

You will coordinate safety policies, perform risk assessments and JSA improvements, track incidents, and work with management to set 3-5 year improvement goals while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship or green card required due to ITAR regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or safety science or related field; 3–5 years EH&S experience preferred.
  • Experience with Behavioral Based Safety, CAL/OSHA, and ergonomic safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Interface between facilities, BU Management, and Corporate EHS.
  • Develop and implement EHS policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Track incidents, root cause, and trends; assign corrective actions.
  • Improve JSA and risk assessments; ensure lab tasks are captured in JSAs.
  • Set annual and 3–5 year safety, health, and environmental goals.
  • Coordinate safety programs (hazardous communication, machine guarding, etc.).
  • Support audits; provide corrective actions and close actions.

The AD&M business unit within TE Connectivity has a great opportunity for a qualified Environment, Safety and Health (EHS) Lab Analyst to support our EHS efforts for our Fremont, CA facility. This position will report into the AD&M EHS Manager at our Paxton St location and is responsible for guiding and building EH&S programs as well as TE Corporate and AD&M business unit level EH&S initiatives to establish a zero injury and environmental defect culture.

Description:

The EHS Analyst is responsible for supporting activities related to environmental, safety and health at the site and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and laws to prevent hazards and injuries.

Job Requirements
  • Provide a working interface between the facilities, Business Unit Management, and the Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Department.
  • Develop policies, standards and procedures and work with management to ensure implementation and uniform compliance with regards to federal, state, local and company regulations throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate reporting, tracking, root cause and trend analysis of workplace incidents, injuries and illnesses as well as environmental incidents. Create corrective actions and assign to responsible parties as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and improve JSA and Risk assessments. Ensure that all labs have captured routine tasks in the JSA’s and understand when to utilize a non-routine risk assessment.
  • Work with management to set short (annual) and long term (3-5 year) goals for safety, health and environmental system improvements which include suitable reductions in injury and illness and environmental incidents.
  • Facilitate and direct efforts to meet or exceed the goals.
    Provide guidance to the management team for continuous improvement for the overall safety culture.
  • Work with site resources to plan, administer and track multiple safety programs including hazardous communication, contractor safety, machine guarding, behavioral based safety, powered industrial truck, electrical safety, and other safety policies/procedures.
  • Facilitate and provide guidance and expertise in safety, health and environmental activities (following the Hierarchy of Controls) such as workplace inspections, new/existing equipment risk assessments, and industrial hygiene surveys. Work with lab managers to standardize all EHS documentation.
  • Manage facility environmental permits, track annual energy reduction projects and monthly safety and environmental metrics.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the EH&S management system tool.
  • Oversee the management of change (MOC) process to include any process changes and new or transferred equipment.
  • Assist or lead internal or external audits as needed.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, provide corrective actions, assign responsibility, and track to closure.
What your background should look like
  • Due to ITAR regulations, current US citizenship or US Lawful Permanent Residency (green card) is required to apply for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or safety science or other related technical field and 3-5 years of EH&S working experience or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Behavioral Based Safety experience
  • CAL/OSHA experience
  • Working knowledge of industrial ergonomics
  • Ability to work with and manage safety initiatives
  • Written and verbal communication skills to facilitate communication with Business Unit Management, laboratory staff, and shop floor personnel including ability to prepare and deliver presentations.

COMPENSATION
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $103,000 – $150,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
