POSITION SUMMARY:The EGYM Trainer is responsible for providing one-on-one orientation to members on the EGYM circuit. The EGYM trainer should also meet with the member after the orientation to share imbalances and share recommendations on additional training needs and share personal training opportunities available to the member.In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide assessment and orientation on the EGYM circuit and HUBComplete follow up consultation with member to share feedbackSuggest additional personal exercises for members tailored to their individual needs according to accepted fitness standards and practicesShare with the member how personal training could compliment their EGYM training programEnsure the safety and well-being of the individual member during each instruction periodAssist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer serviceAssist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCAMaintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participantsWillingly perform other duties as assignedThis organization has zero tolerance for abuse and will not tolerate the mistreatment or abuse of consumers in its programs. Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee or volunteer will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or volunteer service and cooperation with law enforcement. An employee or volunteer’s failure to cooperate with an investigation will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or dismissal from the organization.QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Personal Trainer Certification required.Sound working knowledge of accepted fitness standards and practices.Ability to develop and implement personal exercise programs.Ability to provide fitness testing.Ability to foster positive staff, peers, and program participants.CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.
