You'll work a five-day schedule, including weekends, with on-the-job training covering environmental systems, bird handling procedures, and proper documentation. Pay is hourly and weekly wages are issued.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, and write basic English.
• Record of good attendance and availability for a flexible schedule including weekends.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand/walk for long periods.
• Accurate daily/weekly documentation on required forms.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Self-directed and organized with limited supervision.
• One year in an agricultural environment or animal care preferred.
• Working knowledge of laying hen husbandry preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Animal Caretaker walks the rows, watches the birds, and catches small problems before they turn into big ones.
• Monitors the egg production facility environment and ensures animal welfare in climate-controlled barns.
• Ensures accurate daily records and reports on required forms.
