Job summary

Holtec International is seeking an EFIN Civil Engineer to join the Design Engineering group, owning plant design bases and configuration control. You will provide technical support across plant organizations, ensuring design integrity and regulatory compliance for safe operation.

Responsibilities include maintaining the design basis, developing cost-effective modifications, and supporting operations and outages.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering or related science with power plant operations.
• 2–5 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent.
• Experience in Licensing organizations; strong communication and PC proficiency.
• Desirable SRO license/certification on a PWR or BWR; PE license.

• Provide cost-effective modification designs to improve performance.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and site organizations.
• Support safe, reliable operation by resolving issues via corrective action and work management.

Job description

The EFIN Civil Engineer serves as part of the Design Engineering organization, which maintains ownership of plant design bases, configuration control, and engineering modifications. The EFIN Civil Engineer will provide technical support across plant organizations while ensuring design integrity, regulatory compliance, and safe, reliable plant operation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain the design basis for each site and support maintenance of the licensing basis.
• Provide cost-effective modification designs when required to improve plant, system or equipment performance.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site organizations.
• Support safe, reliable operation by identifying and effectively resolving issues via the corrective action and work management processes.
• Develop engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
• Serve on outage engineering support teams as assigned. Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform required group functions. Act as design authority for the site.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technician level)
• 2 - 5 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level.
• Experience in site or corporate Licensing organizations. Good to excellent communication skills and experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending on Engineering level.
• Desired: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
