Job summary

Holtec is seeking an EFIN Civil Engineer to join the Design Engineering group, ensuring design integrity, regulatory compliance, and safe, reliable plant operation. You will maintain the design basis, support licensing, and provide technical support across plant organizations in a hybrid work environment in the United States.

Ideal candidates have a B.S. in engineering, 2–5 years in nuclear power design or operations, and familiarity with licensing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science used in power plant operations.
• 2–5 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent.
• Experience in licensing organizations; communication and PC skills.
• SRO license or PE license desired.

Job description

The EFIN Civil Engineer serves as part of the Design Engineering organization, which maintains ownership of plant design bases, configuration control, and engineering modifications. The EFIN Civil Engineer will provide technical support across plant organizations while ensuring design integrity, regulatory compliance, and safe, reliable plant operation.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain the design basis for each site and support maintenance of the licensing basis.
• Provide cost-effective modification designs when required to improve plant, system or equipment performance.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site organizations.
• Support safe, reliable operation by identifying and effectively resolving issues via the corrective action and work management processes.
• Develop engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
• Serve on outage engineering support teams as assigned. Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform required group functions. Act as design authority for the site.

Requirements:

• B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technician level)
• 2 - 5 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level.
• Experience in site or corporate Licensing organizations. Good to excellent communication skills and experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending on Engineering level.
• Desired: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
