Job summary

Great Northern is seeking a Production Material Handler for the 1st shift in Brooklyn Park, MN. The role involves pulling material for production orders, stocking and handling materials in the warehouse, and ensuring accurate counts and timely shipments.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years in a warehouse, forklift certification, and the ability to use Microsoft Office. This is a safety-sensitive, tobacco-free campus with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two to three years’ warehouse experience preferred.
• Current forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules and orders.
• Knowledge of material handling operations and best practices.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and use computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Unload trailers and verify material quantity and routing.
• Receive inventory and WIP; update records in the computer system.
• Generate reports to locate PO numbers and verify routing/receiving.
• Sort and route products to assembly or inventory.
• Coordinate shipping plans and up-to-date order status communications.
• Prioritize workload and guide order pullers and other handlers.
• Stock and locate inventory; record transactions in the system.
• Assemble deliveries; prepare shipments; create delivery receipts and BOLs.
• Load trucks per shipping plans; ensure loads are safe and stable.
