Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking a part-time Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in Melbourne, FL. The position runs Tue, Fri, and every other Thursday, 8:15am–5:00pm, with a focus on patient care and education within a group dentistry setting.

You'll assist doctors with charting, fillings, and procedures, perform expanded duties per state rules, and maintain precise patient records. A valid EFDA certification and radiography licensure are required along with CPR and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• EFDA certification or on the job training required per state requirements.
• Radiography licensure per state requirements.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assists doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
• Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
• Assists in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adaptation of temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments. Limitations due apply per state requirements.
• Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating dentist.
