Job summary

North American Dental Group is looking for an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team. You will support doctors with patient care, charting, fillings, and compliance with state rules, while handling educational patient interactions and treatment plans.

The role requires EFDA certification or state-approved on-the-job training, radiography licensure, and CPR. Schedule variability exists with full-time hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• EFDA Certification or on the job training required per state requirements.
• Radiography licensure for respective state requirements.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assists doctors including charting, fillings, operatory set up/cleanup, and patient education.
• Performs expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
• Assists in procedures such as fillings, temporary crowns, sutures, and fluoride applications with state limitations.
• Records and reviews patient history, makes chart entries under the doctor’s direction, and completes forms in dental software.
• Updates patient treatment plans as directed by the treating clinician.
