Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or Dental Assistant to join our team in Tennessee. We offer both full-time and part-time opportunities depending on your preference, with hourly rates contingent on experience: EFDA $27–$32/hour and Dental Assistant $22–$28/hour.

Qualifications

  • EFDA certification or state-approved on-the-job training.
  • Radiography licensure as required by state.
  • 1–5 years of dental assisting experience preferred; new grads considered.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Proficient with MS Office and dental software.
  • Experience with charting software and digital x-rays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist doctors with charting, fillings, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
  • Perform expanded duties per state regulations and compliance.
  • Support in clinical procedures such as fillings, temporary crowns, sutures, and fluoride treatments.
  • Record health history and chart entries; ensure completed forms in the dental software.
  • Enter and update patient treatment plans as directed by the doctor.

Hourly rates for both EFDA and DA:

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant- Depending on experience 27-32/an hour

Dental Assistant- Depending on experience 22-28/an hour

Responsibilities

Skills Required to Make a Great “Impression” on Our Team

  • Assists doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assists in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adaptation of temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments. Limitations due apply per state requirements.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating
Qualifications

So How Can You “Fill” This Role?

  • EFDA Certification or on the job training required per state requirements
  • Radiography licensure for respective state requirements
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
  • CPR Certification is required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary
