Job summary

Heartland is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) in Lafayette, IN. Join a fast-paced, team-centered office where chairside support, patient education, and efficient scheduling are essential.

Responsibilities include x-ray processing, four-handed dentistry, and using Dentrix for charting and scheduling. This role requires experience with EFDA duties and comfort with iTero scanning, digital photography, and Dentrix.

Qualifications

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustaining patient comfort and education throughout treatment.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and charting.
• Prepare treatment rooms with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC guidelines.
• Manage supplies and inventory, placing and expediting orders as needed.
• Partner with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients at check-in and ensure a smooth patient flow.
• Review patient health history to support quality care.
• Assist doctors during procedures with proper infection control.
• Operate Dentrix for scheduling and documentation.
• Maintain room readiness and equipment readiness for daily operations.
