Job summary

Comfort Dental Care & Orthodontics – Mary Esther is seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA/EDDA) to join our Mary Esther, FL team. The ideal candidate will perform expanded duties, assist dentists, and help create a positive patient experience.

You will complete a Florida Board-recognized EFDA/EDDA training and bring solid clinical skills, communication abilities, and a team-oriented attitude. Full-time with benefits and performance-based bonuses offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a qualifying expanded-functions training program recognized by the Florida Board of Dentistry.
• Previous dental assisting experience, preferably in restorative and general dentistry.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work confidently and efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, team-oriented attitude.
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during general and restorative dental procedures.
• Take dental X-rays and impressions as permitted by Florida regulations.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain infection control standards.
• Educate patients on procedures, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
• Work closely with the clinical team to maintain an efficient, positive, and patient-focused environment.
