First Choice Community Healthcare, Inc. seeks an Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) to support a full-range dental program in Albuquerque. Under supervision, you will assist dentists, prepare materials, manage supplies, and handle patient administration and records.

The role requires NM Board credentialing, radiography and topical fluoride certifications, CPR within six months, and a bilingual English/Spanish assistant preferred. Travel within the Albuquerque area may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provides chair side assistance to dentists and/or dental hygienists in operative, preventative, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, and/or oral surgical procedures.
• Prepares, sterilizes, organizes, and sets up dental equipment; ensures instruments are cleaned, dated, and processed according to guidelines.
• Monitors and maintains dental equipment and radiographic developing equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Develops and processes dental radiographs; assists in radiation safety procedures and protocols.
• Orders and maintains inventories of dental clinic supplies.
• Interacts with and processes dental clinic patients; conducts telephone triage, interviews, and obtains prior approvals from third party payors.
• Maintains dental records and lab slips; prepares instruments for sterilization and storage.
• Educates patients on prevention and control of oral diseases; uses teaching aids.
