Job summary

North American Dental Group (NADG) is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) in Pensacola, FL. You will work closely with the dentist and clinical team to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care and perform expanded-function duties per state regulations.

The ideal candidate will hold EFDA certification, radiography licensure, CPR certification, and 1–5 years of experience along with proficiency in MS Office and dental charting software.

Qualifications

• EFDA Certification required per state requirements.
• Radiography licensure for respective state requirements.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

Responsibilities

• As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will work closely with the dentist and clinical team to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Perform expanded-function dental assisting duties within the scope of applicable state laws and regulations.
• Assist the dentist with restorative, preventive, and other clinical procedures.
• Prepare teeth, instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for procedures.
• Take radiographs, impressions, digital scans, and other diagnostic records as directed.
• Provide authorized preventive services such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
• Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, sterilization, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment.
• Educate patients regarding treatment procedures and appropriate post-operative care.
• Communicate effectively with the dentist and dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.
• Maintain dental instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies.
• Maintain all required EFDA credentials, certifications, and continuing education.
