Job summary

State of Washington is seeking a proactive Social Service Specialist 2-3 in Training to advance care for Extended Foster Care youth in the Richland area. You will perform advanced case management, collaborate with field offices, and apply knowledge of EFC policy to support youth toward independence.

The role requires training in Worker Core Training and involves visiting youth monthly, coordinating housing and education resources, and preparing legal documents for permanency planning.

Qualifications

• Five years paid social service experience and 30 credits in a Social Service discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree and 1 year paid social service experience, with 30 credits in Social Service.
• Master’s degree with practicum or equivalent.
• One year experience as a Social Service Specialist 1.
• Master’s degree with 30 credits and paid experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial and ongoing assessment of EFC youth safety, independence, and barriers.
• Identify and develop community supports and resources.
• Assess youth for supervision needs and provide services to prevent homelessness.
• Provide housing resources and assist youth in obtaining housing.
• Assist youth in locating employment or education resources to build career skills.
• Conduct monthly home visits to assess independent living and safety.
• Prepare required legal documents for court, placement, and service delivery.
• Document case activities in FAMLINK and maintain records.
