Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering seeks an EER Building Manager to lead facilities operations and project coordination on the UT Main Campus. You will oversee maintenance, renovations, safety, and space readiness for a research-intensive building.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations, the role requires coordinating with Facilities Services, EHS, and external vendors while maintaining compliance with campus standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of trade experience in facilities/maintenance
• 3+ years supervisory/manager experience in facilities settings
• Experience coordinating building systems, projects, and vendors
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building automation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to after-hours emergencies

Responsibilities

• Coordinate laboratory renovations, equipment installations and space improvement projects with Cockrell School personnel and research groups
• Serve as liaison with Facilities Services, Planning Design and Construction, EHS, contractors and vendors
• Coordinate facilities work orders and service requests across multiple units; monitor schedules and impacts
• Oversee maintenance, repair and safety activities for EER; troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
• Develop scopes of work, estimate requirements, and submit work orders for repairs or improvements
• Coordinate space readiness, move-ins/move-outs and occupancy changes
• Manage safety, access control and compliance with EHS standards
• Support space planning and inventory data maintenance
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for emergencies
