Job summary

Job description

cFocus Software seeks a Sr. AV/VTC Technician to join our program supporting the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This position is onsite in Washington, DC. This position requires a Public Trust or the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of ten years of professional experience providing AV/VTC support in an enterprise environment similar in size and complexity to the EEOC.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting AV/VTC equipment and technologies identified in the PWS and coordinating services across 53 nationwide field offices or a comparably distributed environment.
  • Advanced hands‑on experience with enterprise video conferencing and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, and Poly RealPresence.
  • Advanced knowledge of VTC endpoints, codecs, DSPs, control systems, cameras, microphones, audio mixers, video and presentation switchers, streaming and recording systems, projection systems, LED displays, digital signage, and public‑address systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex AV, video, audio, hardware, software, network, and interoperability issues and perform root‑cause analysis through resolution.
  • Experience supporting high‑visibility live, virtual, and hybrid events, including executive meetings, hearings, town halls, webinars, training events, webcasts, and conferences.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance, firmware and software upgrades, system monitoring, documentation, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle support.
  • Strong customer‑service and communication skills, including the ability to support executives, presenters, end users, technical teams, vendors, and geographically dispersed stakeholders.
  • Professional command of the English language and the ability to create clear technical, operational, maintenance, and ticket documentation.
  • Ability to work full‑time on‑site at EEOC Headquarters and provide approved travel, after‑hours, weekend, or on‑call support when operational requirements demand it.
  • Must currently possess or be able to favorably complete the required five‑year employment background investigation for a Public Trust position, normally initiated through Standard Form 85P, and meet applicable OPM suitability standards.
Duties:
  • Operate, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise AV/VTC systems in conference rooms, training facilities, executive meeting spaces, and virtual or hybrid environments.
  • Provide senior technical support for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Poly RealPresence, webinars, breakout rooms, and other approved unified communications platforms.
  • Schedule and manage virtual meetings; coordinate connections among multiple locations; monitor audio and video quality; and resolve connectivity, interoperability, and user‑support issues.
  • Support the planning, setup, rehearsal, execution, recording, streaming, and post‑event activities for Commission hearings, town halls, executive meetings, training sessions, webcasts, conferences, and other official events.
  • Operate and support cameras, microphones, public‑address systems, audio mixing consoles, video and presentation switchers, recording systems, streaming platforms, projection systems, LED displays, digital signage, and computer presentation systems.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VTC endpoints, codecs, digital signal processors, control systems, collaboration technologies, displays, and related network‑connected AV equipment.
  • Perform live video switching, audio mixing, camera operations, recording, presentation support, and quality monitoring during live, virtual, and hybrid events.
  • Provide technical support for video editing and post‑production workflows and associated tools, including Adobe Premiere/Premiere Rush, Final Cut Pro, Wondershare Filmora, and Blackmagic video switching technologies, as applicable.
  • Receive, document, track, manage, and resolve AV/VTC service requests and trouble tickets submitted by EEOC personnel at Headquarters and field‑office locations.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving audio quality, video transmission, network connectivity, codecs, hardware failures, conferencing platforms, and system interoperability.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis, document findings and corrective actions, and coordinate unresolved incidents through formal escalation procedures until service is fully restored.
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance, routine inspections, firmware and software updates, equipment upgrades, and lifecycle support activities to maintain operational readiness.
  • Monitor AV/VTC system health, availability, and performance and recommend improvements or technology refreshes that enhance reliability, scalability, capacity, and user experience.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, standard operating procedures, signal‑flow and network diagrams, system configurations, maintenance records, equipment inventories, licensing, and warranty information.
  • Coordinate with EEOC customers, field‑office coordinators, IT teams, AV/VTC personnel, vendors, and manufacturers to resolve technical issues and support warranty or repair actions.
  • Provide executive‑level customer support, presenter orientation, and end‑user training on conference‑room technologies, collaboration tools, and AV/VTC best practices.
  • Support incident, problem, change, and service‑management activities using ITIL‑aligned practices.
  • Provide approved onsite or remote support for special projects, technology upgrades, equipment replacements, new AV/VTC standards, and ad hoc EEOC management requests.
  • Travel as approved to support Commission hearings, meetings, official events, site evaluations, maintenance activities, and AV/VTC requirements outside EEOC Headquarters.
