Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Tampa, FL seeks an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist to assist in managing affirmative action and EEO programs at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital and related facilities.

The role involves planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of EEO activities; strong knowledge of EEO laws and procedures is required. Telework may be discussed; typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience with EEO laws, regulations, and practices.
• Ability to conduct intake interviews and counsel employees on EEO complaints.
• Experience reviewing EEO case files and providing guidance on procedures.

Responsibilities

• Duties include complaint-related counseling, HPP fact-finding, and ADR support.
• Coordinate intake of reported harassing conduct and conduct initial issue assessment.
• Develop fact-finding plans and interview witnesses; prepare factual findings and recommendations.
• Manage operational progress of HPP factfinding matters and coordinate with responsible officials.
• Support anti-harassment intake and triage; coordinate referrals as appropriate.
