Job summary

Metra Commuter Rail seeks an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist to ensure equal opportunity in employment and to conduct discrimination investigations. The role reports to the Director, EEO and Compliance and involves detailed report writing, stakeholder coordination, and compliance oversight.

The position requires conducting interviews, preparing agency-ready reports, delivering EEO trainings, and traveling across Metra's six-county region to support a fair and compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or public administration, or equivalent four years of related experience.
• Four years of EEO workplace investigation experience.
• Knowledge of EEO/Title VII laws and related regulations.
• Experience with investigative interviewing techniques.
• Knowledge of HR recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
• Ability to travel within Metra's six-county region and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigatory interviews alleging discrimination, harassment or retaliation.
• Analyze supporting documents and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external agencies.
• Respond to inquiries and prepare EEO reports and responses as requested.
• Make district location visits to conduct interviews, trainings, and presentations.
• Prepare trainings related to EEO/Title VII compliance.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
