Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Neurology Technician to perform EEG studies (Routine, Sleep Deprived, LTM EEG) for adult to geriatric patients and to act as a super-user for digital EEG and long-term monitoring systems. On-site and call coverage with 12-hour shifts. One weekend per month and overnight options may apply.

Requires at least one year of adult clinical experience, ABRET pathways considered, and BLS. High school education acceptable; college or EEG program graduation preferred.

12-hour shifts on site and/or call as needed. Per diem, on-call position providing coverage as needed at OLOL and Voorhees. Flexible scheduling with overnight shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) available. One weekend per month required. Position is limited to emergent LTM hookups.

Job Summary

The neurology technician is responsible for providing various electroencephalogram studies (Routine, Sleep Deprived, LTM EEG,) as ordered by a physician for patients from adult to geriatric age. In addition, this individual will act as a super-user/system administrator for the digital EEG system and long-term EEG monitoring systems.

Position Responsibilities

Performs various types of encephalogram studies

Maintains the digital EEG and long-term monitoring systems. Clips long-term monitoring studies to reduce required server space.

Obtains patient history from medical record, documents information in digital EEG system. Ensures patient orders and charges are correct and appropriate.

Required Experience: A minimum of one year adult experience is preferred must be in a clinical setting. Knowledge of digital EEG systems is preferred. ABRET pathways considered.

Required Education: High school education, college education preferred. Graduate of accredited EEG program preferred. Must qualify for ABRET registry examination under at least ONE current ABRET pathway.

Training / Certification / Licensure: BLS, board eligible via ABRET pathway, R.EEG. T Registry within two years of hire.

Salary: $28.63 - $44.54 Hourly
