Job summary

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Performs routine Electroneurodiagnostic procedures on adult and pediatric patients in both outpatient/inpatient settings, including critically ill patients in the intensive care units and in the Epilepsy Long‑Term‑Monitoring unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients and equipment for procedures. Obtains medical history from patient/families to identify and meet patient‑specific needs. (e.g. physical/mental limitations, current physiological status regarding the testing procedure). Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician, and complies with all standard lab protocols. Documents history in the technologist report.
  • Performs procedures according to Laboratory standards and protocols. Implements alternative methods or adjusts recordings to obtain optimal recording of clinical EEG, AEEG data. Prepares and adjusts recording equipment as needed.
  • Takes appropriate actions during patient emergency situations and ensures patient safety, including electrical equipment safety in the Labs at all times.
  • Administration: Accurately and thoroughly Completes documents, forms, and reports.
  • Troubleshoots recording equipment and coordinates repairs as needed.
  • Attend technical staff meetings and morning huddles, providing professional input for the development of procedures and protocols.
  • Participates in conferences and technical meetings on a local, regional, and national basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • High School/GED required
  • Graduation from an electroneurodiagnostic technology training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and registration by The American Board of Registration of EEG and EP Technologists, Inc. (ABRET) preferred.
Experience
  • 1 year of EEG experience
Licensure / Certifications
  • Certification in CPR is required within 60 days of hire.
  • Registration by the American Board of Registered EEG/EP Technologists (ABRET) preferred

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good‑faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job‑related factors.
