Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health is seeking an EEG Technician Assistant to join our team. You will help perform routine and ambulatory EEGs and assist with long-term studies under supervision, ideal for students in accredited EEG programs or on-the-job training to qualify for EEG technician roles.

Responsibilities include learning electrode hookups, EPIC system use, preparing exam rooms, educating patients and families, and supporting EEG lab operations in a pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) months of experience.
• Can be enrolled in an accredited program.
• Must have communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic EEG hookups and troubleshoot basic machine issues.
• Be trained in EPIC functions related to EEG lab.
• Assist in evaluation and analysis of scalp video-EEG studies.
• Prepare rooms for EEG procedures.
• Educate patients and families about monitoring procedures.
• Perform EEG hookups and rewrap as needed per International 10-20 system.
• Carry out additional EEG lab duties as assigned.

Nemours is seeking an EEG Technician Assistant to join our Nemours Children’s Health team.

This position’s main purpose is to perform routine and Ambulatory EEGs. This person will also hook up Long Term studies under the supervision of a Registered EEG Tech. This is a position for students of an accredited EEG program and/or training on the job to better situate them to graduate and qualify for EEG Technician Position.

• Ability to learn and perform basic troubleshooting on EEG recordings including electrode hookups and basic machine issues.
• Able to be trained in EPIC functions in relation to EEG lab.
• Able to be trained in evaluation and analyzing scalp video-EEG studies.
• Prepare rooms for EEG procedure.
• Educates the patient and family regarding their EMU monitoring procedures, interacting according to patient’s level of understanding.
• Perform EEG hookups as well as fix or rewrap EEG hookup according to International 10-20 system.
• Additional duties and responsibilities within the EEG lab, as may be assigned on occasion by associate’s supervisor or lead tech.
