Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital is seeking an EEG Apprenticeship Program participant to learn electro-neurodiagnostic procedures and prepare for the ABRET Registered EEG Technologist exam. After training, you will progress toward becoming a Registered EEG Technician and have opportunities for advancement within the Cleveland Clinic system.

The role requires learning and performing EEG examinations, epilepsy monitoring, and supporting the Epilepsy Center operations, with shifts including a

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months of direct patient care experience OR one year of post-secondary education required.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross upon or within one month of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support functions essential to the operations of the Epilepsy Center.
• Receive training in performing EEG examinations and epilepsy monitoring.
• Apply electrodes to predetermined positions and select montages.
• Calibrate and adjust EEG equipment.
• Observe patients with video and digital recording equipment.
• Ensure EEG and tape are lined up correctly.
• Check focus, lighting and microphones.
• Abstract relevant patient information from records and questioning.
• Apply respiration monitors and EKG as needed.

Education
