Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, the EEG Technologist is responsible for assuring accurate and timely neuro-diagnostic testing and/or application of EEG leads. The EEG technologist interprets and performs basic patient care procedures to assess quality-testing specific to their area of expertise in accordance with medical staff approved protocols, physician orders, regulatory requirements, departmental policies and procedures. Assists in the daily operation of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Participates in department “on call” for “stat/today” EEG orders and issues concerning EMU when on-call. Meets age-specific requirements (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:Post-secondary training or college education in a science or health related field (LPN, CST, MOA, Paramedic, EMT, etc.). Previous experience in Electroencephalography or an allied health care/life sciences field. Basic Life Support.
Preferred: Prior training as an EEG technologist, or other allied health profession is preferred. Two years previous experience working in Electroencephalography. R-EEG (Registered Electroencephalography Technologist).
