Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an EEG Technician to perform EEG procedures and support a multi-disciplinary Neurodiagnostic team at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The role involves setting up patients, monitoring brain activity, and adhering to policy and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, EEG experience and BLS certification, with additional consideration for those with a CAAHEP END program.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Associates graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited END program preferred.
  • 6 Months relevant Neurodiagnostic/EEG experience required.
  • AHA or ARC BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • The EEG Technician performs EEG procedures according to department and Corewell Health policy and procedures.
  • Set up patients with appropriate EEG equipment for monitoring and recording brain activity.
  • Assist physicians by providing clear, accurate EEG data and maintaining patient safety during procedures.

About the unit

The Neurodiagnostic team is comprised of EEG Technologists, EEG Technicians and Neurodiagnostic Assistants. These individuals work together to set up patients with appropriate equipment, allowing for monitoring and recording of electrical activity of a patient’s brain waves. This in turn allows us to provide physicians proof of any brain abnormalities. The team provides support for Butterworth, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Blodgett, 25 Michigan and 35 Michigan.

Scope of work

The EEG Technician is an entry to mid-level position that performs EEG procedures according to department and Corewell Health policy and procedures.

Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Associates Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electro neurodiagnostic (END) Program Preferred
  • 6 Months Relevant Neurodiagnostic/EEG Experience Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
