Trinity Health is seeking a qualified EEG Technician to perform non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. The role involves setting up equipment, editing data, and working with Neurologists to provide accurate clinical information for diagnoses.
Minimum END program or two years of END experience is required; BCLS certification on hire with ABRET certification within two years is preferred.
Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: SUMMARY Provides non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring for Neurology/Epilepsy patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), including computer set up, editing, and data mining. Responsible for the production of high quality neurodiagnostic tests needed to provide physicians with clinical data to aid in establishing a diagnosis. Communicates and works with Neurologists in a manner that improves patient care.
Education Minimum Graduate of an accredited Electro neurodiagnostic Program (END) program or on the job training with a minimum of two years' experience. Preferred Graduate of an accredited Electro neurodiagnostic Program (END) with a minimum of an associate's degree and one-year electro neurodiagnostic experience.
Credentials/Licensure Minimum Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Preferred associate's degree in health sciences. Ability to complete certification as an EEG Technologist by the American Board of Electro neurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) within two years of hire.
Minimum Satisfactory completion of CCF EEG Course and Testing. Preferred Non-invasive EEG testing competence.
Minimum Ability to read, write, and understand English, comprehends training manuals, duty lists, paperwork and forms. Follows basic directions. Works independently and demonstrates safe work practices.
Familiarity with standard desktop and windows-based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions.
Stand, sit (80-100% of the time); Bend, climb, reach, restrain, twist (50-80%). Crawl, squat, crouch, stoop, kneel (21-50%); Lift / carry, push / pull objects weighing more than 60 lbs. (50-80%); Perform detailed tasks (5-20%), work with interruptions and changing work priorities (80-100%); Hear speech, speak loudly / softly; Distinguish sounds, colors, hot / cold surfaces, temperatures, odors; Utilize far / near vision depth perception, fine motor skills, manual dexterity. Ability to lift up to a maximum of 35lbs. and perform push/pull tasks that require a maximum force of 35 lbs. Ability to physically operate safe patient movement equipment in compliance with the Safe Patient Movement Policy.
