Job summary

CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, NE, is seeking an EEG Tech to perform diagnostic EEG, seizure monitoring, and evoked potentials per physician orders and protocols. You will prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe results, and monitor equipment under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years EEG/EMG lab experience or medical assisting background, CPR at hire, and strong knowledge of EEG equipment.

• Basic Life Support (CPR) required on hire
• Ability to operate EEG equipment and document results

Responsibilities

• Performs standard and complex EEG recordings.
• Assists physician with electromyography; prepares patient and explains procedures.
• Maintains clean equipment and troubleshoots minor malfunctions.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to privacy rules.
• Transports patients and ensures comfort during testing.
• Documents entries in the medical record within scope of duties.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EEG Tech, you will perform diagnostic Electroencephalography, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system per physician orders and established protocols.

Every day you will prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe and document results, and monitor equipment, all under direct healthcare provider supervision.

To be successful, you will possess thorough knowledge of EEG equipment, continuously update your skills, and actively participate in quality assurance programs to uphold diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

• Performs standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings.
• Assists physician with electromyography. Places the patient on the examination table and explains procedure.
• Keeps equipment in a clean operating condition. Troubleshoots and repairs minor malfunctions in the equipment. Initiates repair of malfunctioning equipment.
• Practices strict ethical enforcement of protected medical and employee confidentiality. Uses confidential information only as needed to perform legitimate duties.
• Transports patients, maintaining safety and comfort.
• Authorized to make entries in the medical record, consistent with and limited to the scope of the job duties and any applicable licensure.

Job Requirements

• One to two years clinical experience in EEG/EMG lab or
• medical assisting experience
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Pay Range

$21.85 - $30.87 /hour
