Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL seeks an EEG Technician for the Electromyography department. This per diem position involves performing EEGs, ambulatory EEGs and sleep latency EEGs to help localize brain activity in epilepsy cases.

Responsibilities include recording electrical activity, performing clerical tasks and contributing to CQI initiatives while maintaining patient safety and compliance with ABRET and BCLS requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of educational program for EEG technicians preferred.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 2 years experience as an EEG technician required.
• Associate Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic technology preferred.
• ABRET certification preferred.

Overview

Responsibilities

Performs EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, and multiple sleep latency EEGs. Responsible for recording electrical activity of the patient's brain to study epilepsy, convulsive disorders and localizing lesions in the cerebrum. Performs clerical duties. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality (CQI) improvement activities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.

2. Completion of educational program for EEG technicians preferred.

3. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

4. 2 yrs experience as an EEG technician required

5. Associate Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic technology from a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs preferred

6. Certification from the American Board of Registered Electroencephalographic Technologies (ABRET) preferred
