Job summary

TriStar Skyline Medical Center is seeking an EEG EMU Technician to support Neurology/Epilepsy services in the EMU. The role requires wiring and monitoring EEG/EKG tests, ensuring accurate data collection and patient care.

The technician will collaborate with physicians and care teams to uphold Skyline’s standards. Ideal candidates will hold EKG/EEG certifications within 12 months of hire, be a high school graduate, and obtain BCLS within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Hook and un-hook patient leads for EKG and EEG.
• Provide non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring for Neurology/Epilepsy patients in EMU.
• Deliver accurate EEG and EKG studies for diagnosis and treatment.
• Use and clean electrodes per manufacturer recommendations and Skyline policies.
• Relay clinical history and related diagnostic procedures for high-quality patient care.
• Develop and maintain relationships within and across departments per Skyline mission.
• Exercise professional judgment and critical thinking in duties.
• Pursue continuing education for optimal patient care and knowledge.

Education

Job Summary And Qualifications

• How to hook and un-hook patient leads for both EKG and EEG.
• Maintain knowledge on how to provide non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring for Neurology/Epilepsy patients in the EMU.
• Provide accurate and high quality EEG and EKG studies for patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain the skills required to properly use and clean the electrodes by following manufactures recommendations and policies/procedures of Skyline Medical Center and the EEG/EKG department.
• Remain competent in production, use recognition, and analysis of images and patterns used for patient diagnosis/treatment and relay all clinical history and related diagnostic procedures to provide the highest quality of patient care.

Tech must:

• Contact the physician with any updates regarding active events or questionable areas on an EEG/EKG.
• Be the primary liaison between patients, physicians and other members of the support team regarding patient care.

Responsibilities also include :

• Developing and maintaining good working relationships both inter-and intra-departmentally; to foster good customer relations and to observe the Skyline Medical Center mission statement.
• Ability to use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.
• Obtaining continuing education for optimal patient care, public education and enhanced knowledge and technical competence.

Requirements:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• Registry/Certification in EKG and EEG must be obtained within 12 months of hire date
