Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN is seeking an EEG Technician to prepare patients and perform EEGs, Ambulatory EEGs, BAERs, VEP and related tests within the scope of practice.

You will operate EEG/EMG equipment, maintain patient records and assist with billing for procedures while delivering compassionate, holistic care to diverse patient populations in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ABRET REEGT credential preferred.
• EEG or Polysomnography experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and perform Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEGs, BAERs, VEP and other tests as within scope of practice.
• Provide compassionate, holistic patient care while respecting patients' rights and dignity.
• Operate EEG, EMG and Evoked Potential equipment.
• Maintain patient files and reconcile procedure and supply charges.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The EEG Tech functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members and hospital staff. Prepare patients and performs Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEG’s, BAER’s, VEP and other tests within their scope of practice.

• You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in his/her department.
• You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
• You will demonstrate knowledge of equipment and procedures for dept.
• You will operate EEG, EMG and Evoked Potential equipment
• You will maintain patient files
• You will reconcile procedure and supply charges

What qualifications you will need:

• High School diploma/GED
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• National credentials by the ABRET for REEGT preferred
• EEG or Polysomnography experience required
