Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Monitoring Diagnostic Technician on-site at Wexford, PA to perform EEG recording and ensure equipment accuracy. You will detect malfunctions and assist neurologists with interpretation by preparing tracings and patient data.

Responsibilities include electrode placement, calibration, interference reduction, and reviewing tracings to support diagnostic outcomes. CPR certification is required, and background clearances are required per policy.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months' work experience in a hospital or physician's office is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required plus additional schooling 12 months or less in EEG or respiratory therapy programs is required.
• CPR – American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Applies electrodes on predetermined positions on patient's head and checks accuracy for testing.
• Recognizes and eliminates causes of electrical interference for a clear study.
• Calibrates and keeps EEG equipment clean to maintain performance.
• Assesses and reviews tracings and abstracts information from patients’ records to help neurologist interpret results.
