Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Redmond is seeking a seasoned EEE Failure Analysis Specialist for Starlink satellite PCB engineering. You will lead destructive and non-destructive analyses across hardware lifecycles, addressing rework, non-conformities, and First Article Inspections, while supporting critical qualification test efforts.

The role requires 5+ years in a PCBA failure analysis lab, expertise with X-Ray/CT/SEM and destructive techniques, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in a component/PCBA failure analysis laboratory.
  • Experience with EEE piece parts and components.
  • Experience with non-destructive analysis techniques such as Visual Inspection, X-Ray, CT scan, and SEM.
  • Experience with destructive analysis techniques such as Cross Section, Parallel Lapping and Polishing, dye and pry, and chemical decapsulation.
  • Understanding of basic electronic theory.
  • Some experience in electrical trouble shooting.
  • Able to work independently and problem solve efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Positive attitude and able to work well on a team.
  • Able to stay organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

EEE FAILURE ANALYSIS SPECIALIST (STARLINK SATELLITE PCB ENGINEERING)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support destructive and non-destructive analyses during development and pre-production phases of hardware life-cycles, including pre-production, qualification, and flight hardware
  • Support engineering in analysis of rework and recovery efforts on non-conforming hardware
  • Assist with analyses into piece part failures, as well as non-conforming material

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of experience in a component/PCBA failure analysis laboratory
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with EEE piece parts and components
  • Experience with non-destructive analysis techniques such as Visual Inspection, X-Ray, CT scan, and SEM.
  • Experience with destructive analysis techniques such as Cross Section, Parallel Lapping and Polishing, dye and pry, and chemical decapsulation
  • Understanding of basic electronic theory
  • Some experience in electrical trouble shooting

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be comfortable in handling corrosive chemicals using proper PPE
  • Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, over time, and weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:Level 1: $34.00 - $40.00Level 2: $38.00 - $45.00Level 3: $42.00 - $51.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at the company. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the the company Redmond office Monday to Friday.
