Summary:

Support the design and development of electronics control and monitoring circuitry for powered equipment applications. The successful candidate will possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to interface with diverse individuals and groups, and strong planning and organizational abilities.

Educational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Work Experience:

Applicable work experience will also be considered. 2-5 years of related engineering experience in design and manufacture of electronic assemblies. Experience in electronics simulation, automobile or commercial vehicle industry would be beneficial.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform all safety-critical functions. The product must be built to designated specifications, which are approved and cannot be deviated from or substituted. Control, performance, and tolerance are essential for the part to function correctly, ensuring public safety and compliance with government regulations.
  • Recognize and call out critical characteristic symbols as listed on blueprints.
  • Evaluate compliance of manufacturing standards, drawings, specifications, and products with customer expectations.
  • Manage and support NPD business goals effectively.
  • Participate in electrical schematic and PCB design/layout.
  • Work with customers to ensure that design and functional performance meet specified needs and deadlines, including travel as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to migrate new designs into production, ensuring compliance with industry/automotive standards.
  • Design and develop new testing hardware and software for product development and manufacturing.
  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot applications and software for products.
  • Support existing products by analyzing circuits and software for potential applications/solutions.
  • Lead testing for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) to ensure proper operation of electronic systems.
  • Complete customer requests as assigned.
  • Support development of prototype and production tools, fixtures, gauges, and equipment.
  • Participate in APQP steps to develop reliable products.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as stock requisitions, tool sheets, and expense reports.
  • Follow all 6S & Safety Guidelines: Safety, Sort, Straighten, Scrub, Standardize, Sustain.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Perform other tasks and special assignments as required.

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency with: DMM (Voltmeter/Ammeter), Oscilloscope, Power Supply, Function Generator, CAN network communication devices, Automation wiring/troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of automotive standards: ISO 16750/7637, SAE J1113, CISPR25, ISO 10605.
  • Proficiency with office equipment and computer skills: C/C++ (Embedded), Visual Studio, PADS/Mentor Graphics, LabVIEW, Microsoft Office.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
