Job summary

Yellow Brick Road is seeking an Educator’s Aide to support curriculum implementation and foster a nurturing learning environment for children. You will work with the Lead Educator to implement age-appropriate activities, supervise students, and help maintain a positive classroom culture.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and flexible collaboration with families and staff, with a focus on safety and developmental growth.

Qualifications

• Must meet DHS Educator’s Aide qualification requirements.
• Experience with young children preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet physical demands (standing/sitting, lifting up to 40 lbs).
• Background checks and state licensing requirements must be met.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Educator with play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.

• Assist with daily classroom cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining a safe environment.

What You’ll Do:

Support Curriculum Implementation:

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that support student’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, aligned with early learning standards.
• Helpmaintaina positive classroom culture that fosters a sense of belonging, safety, and curiosity.

Child Supervision and Interaction:

• Provide active supervision to ensure student’s safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
• Assistinobservingand recording developmental milestones under the guidance of the Lead Educator.

Classroom Management Support:

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of the classroom, including toys, surfaces, equipment, and other areas, to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for students.
• Supportpositive behavior guidance strategies.

Family Communication:

• Greet families and support positive daily interactions during drop-off and pick-up times, under the direction of the Lead Educator and Director.
• Help provide updates using the center’s communication platformregardingstudent’s daily activities, meals, rest, and learning experiences.

What You’ll Need:

• Must meet the Department of Human Services (DHS) Educator’s Aide qualification requirements.
• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include - standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying young children and classroom materials - up to 40lbs. Bending, stooping, and kneeling to interact with children at their level. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring physical intervention.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
