Qualifications

  • 12.5 years of education and experience after high school; must include 5.5 years active practice of law.
  • Valid driver’s license or access to transportation for statewide travel.
  • Active member of the New Hampshire Bar Association and in Good Standing.

Responsibilities

  • Administers, oversees, and coordinates investigations for complaints alleging educator misconduct, including licensure issues and student safety concerns for hearings with the NH Board of Education.
  • Analyzes evidence sufficiency and directs gathering of case data to meet department objectives.
  • Directs adjudication and resolution of misconduct and student safety hearings to ensure timeliness and legal compliance.
  • Manages and evaluates investigators, providing training and assignments; performs disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Interprets state/federal rules to provide in-depth legal analysis and guidance on misconduct matters.
  • Oversees programs related to student safety and management of contracts, budgets, and procurement for hearings and investigations.
  • Drafts program manuals and policies; supports data collection and reporting for misconduct programs.
  • Monitors compliance with administrative decisions and implements corrective actions as necessary.
  • Coordinates with other divisions and agencies to ensure consistent application of laws and policies.
