Job summary

Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site is seeking Full Time Educators to implement educational programming for visitors of all ages both at the historic site and virtually. You will facilitate learning experiences that promote dialogue about criminal justice reform and foster an inclusive environment for staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include leading tours and workshops, supporting outreach, and developing programs for diverse audiences including students, families, and adults.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in history, education, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years' experience in education, teaching, or working with youth.
• Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and incarceration; lived experience with incarceration strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency with digital tools like Zoom and a comfort with on-camera delivery.
• Able to work weekends and adapt to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead educational programs including guided tours, interactive workshops and hands-on activities.
• Ensure engaging, informative experiences for visitors in person and virtually.
• Foster inclusive environment; encourage questions and dialogue among diverse groups.
